VISITIOR INTERPRETIVE
CENTER
The Visitor Interpretive Center is a follow up of the first project. With the knowledge from previous project and a group project to an analysis on our selected site, I am tasked to design a visitor interpretive center for the tourist and the local community.
Situated in Sabak Bernam district in Selangor, Sekinchan is a people's place. Its people came from different ethnic groups which carries along some history behind. It is going through constant progression of association nowadays. The older community and the town are interdependent, providing a place of belongings to its villagers. However the new millennials generation bears the responsibility to conserve and preserve Sekinchan's timeless familial generation, had failed to do so and are more interested in the outside world. The different hierarchy of communities are losing its togetherness and creating a huge gap between the old and the young communities.
My Visitor Interpretive Center has the the purpose of creating many pockets of spaces, which are not only meant for outside visitors, but also for the different communities found in Sekinchan. The center will provide a continuous flow of spaces that congregates both outside visitors and the local communities to mingle with each other inside an interactive building. As my initial motive is to link all the communities.
